A leaf by any other name...
Written by: Julie Ovenell-CarterIt doesn’t get more homespun than Canada Day on Bowen Island where somewhere around noon-time I waved the Maple Leaf and sang O Canada with my family in Crippen Park.
Charming dancing children, crazy dancing Morris Men, mellow music, tasty cake, unending sunshine and a girls vs. guys tug-o-war: does it get better than this? Have a look:
Anyway, hope all you Canucks and Canuck-lovers got your fill of red-and-white today–and one of you just got a little bit more: a $100 gift certificate to Fairmont Hotels. Congratulations to Peggy Coonley of Rockport, Massachusetts who offered this Canada Day greeting (and earned a second entry by tweeting the contest on Twitter):
“We will be celebrating Canada Day in Canada and singing O Canada along with the locals….O Canada: the best friend next door!”
Enjoy Peggy! And to everyone else, thanks for all your goodwill and please stay tuned for another great contest, coming soon…
