Wow, awesome post! I have been thinking about doing a homeswap but have not been able to convince my wife to do so, maybe if she reads this she will see its not as bad. I found your blog entry by searching for 'home swap experience' and was exactly what I was looking for. Its good to know other people do it on a regular basis and for the most part it is very successful. We are in Utah, if anyone is interested in a homeswap let me know, I guess I will signup for some of those sites though and taking pictures of our home, etc.

[...] Regular TheseBoots readers already know I’m a major fan of home exchanges, and today Brad and I are heading to Berlin, Germany, where we used the services of HomeLink to line up an apartment right in the heart of the city. (Last year, we had a terrific flat in the Le Marais district of Paris.) [...]

I live outside of Salmon Arm(about 20 mins.) If someone is interested in roughin' it, we do have a loft cabin on our property. We built it for our families use but have considered renting it out. the wildwerness is beautiful when we all have a chance to turn off our regular lives. We have found the best quality time was time spent only 100 yards from our home. A holiday to remember!!!!!!!! Please let me know if I could advertise for an exchange or to rent it out. I'm just not sure how many people out there want to do without a hot shower each morning. A good Idea or not? thanks

This does look very interesting. We are on Bowen Island; I have thought about home exchange in the past, but wasn't sure about the best way to do it. We try to travel for a month every year, so maybe this is the accomodation solution for us. Thanks!

Hey Darlene, thanks for entering, and check out www.homelink.ca under the "visitors" section to learn more about their services. You could also try Intervac which other callers on the show mentioned they had used with success...Julie
